Flying Tiger Heritage Park Donations:.
Major General James Whitehead and Larry Jobe attended EAA AirVenture 2007. They conducted a forum and a live radio interview as well as manning an informational booth, and collecting donations. Several CBI Theater participants and contacts were made, which will be followed up on to record their oral histories. Contacts were also established which we hope will lead to substantial donations for the project.
We have begun our fund raising efforts. Several $1,000.00 dollar donations have been made and some former Mohawk Airlines pilots and flight attendants have generously pledged $1,200.00. It would be wonderful if some of the other Airline groups would step up to the plate to honor and remember the guys who became the nucleus of Flying Tigers Airlines. I can't help but believe that the back bone and spirit shown by the Flying Tigers helped us through the trying times in the Airline industry.
